LoL, Different here in Virginia..you can open carry withoiut a license, there is a list of places were you cannot carry. "schools, churches, etc".
Concealed carry is a different story, proof of prior training required. Basically a 4 hour course in weapon handling, Concealed Carry Rules, etc.
I did the course one Saturday in Oct. Got certificate, following Monday I took my certificate, and application to the Sheriff's Office in my County,
Plus 100 dollars. Leading up to the application, everybody said it took 6 weeks. Funny, I paid my money with the application. The clerk said if
there were no issues, I should receive my license to conceal carry in two weeks. That was a Monday morning, I received my license in the mail
two weeks later, in the mail, on Saturday..
I had already purchased a M208 38SPL Caliber Revolver. Just a little wide for concealed carry, kinda creates a bulge.
So I have added a "Hellcat" 380ACP 3" Pistol (black) to my inventory. Loaded both weapons are about the same weight, the
revolver is a wee bit heavier, it's just wider because of the revolving chamber. Not as easy to conceal. My issue now is
finding a range where I can exercise them.
I had a second reason for buying the "Hellcat", besides a better conceal. The 38SPL the Afgan used to shoot the two National Guards in DC the
other week, is the exact same model I have, made by Rock Island Armory. I was thinking of a second gun, because the revolver is a bit wide
making concealed carry a bit difficult. (Made by Rock Island Armory, Philippines.)
The "Hellcat" is made by Springfield Armory, here in the USA . The "Hellcat" is listed as a "high capacity micro -compact".. It conceals
well.
I am negotiating with the gun club at Quantico, for membership, That should be fun,
This is what happens when everything suddenly changes Oh! the wife's ashes are sitting in my living room, wait for me to pass.
My daughter and I are going to National Cemetary to arrange for her's and my ashes to share a slot in the Wall.
